Resource Planning Associates was formed in 1992. As its name suggests, RPA draws from associated expert disciplines to meet the client's project and budget requirements.
We specialise in all matters under the Resource Management Act 1991 and 2009 Amendments, including:

FOUNDING ASSOCIATIONS
Resource Planning Associates was founded in 1992 by its three original founding Directors after the original Directors worked successfully together on the winning of the Taupo Urban Design Competition with Peddle Thorp & Montgomery Ltd Architects.
Robert Montgomery remains as one of the founding Directors of the firm and has since been joined by Richard Kaye, Registered Architect and Grant Birkinshaw, Urban Planner.
AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Winner of the "Future Taupo" Urban Design Competition 1990-91. This included:

QUEENSTOWN LAKES DISTRICT COUNCIL
RPA was subsequently formed and was appointed ahead of a national and international field of consultants by the Lake Queenstown District Council to undertake a similar urban design growth strategy which was successfully completed in 1992.
WINNER TURANGI - TOKANNU URBAN DESIGN COMPETITION 1994
Director, Robert Montgomery, led a small design team - Mary Monzingo, Landscape Consultant, Christine McElwee, Tourism Consultant, on the winning entry in this urban design competition for Turangi. This was from a short listed selected field of urban planning consultants.
This included assessment and proposals for environmental issues, town centre upgrade, urban growth issues, residential and open space issues.
RPA has subsequently undertaken projects in the North and South Islands for private clients on a range of residential and urban development projects, which have included:
- Bendemeer Farm Subdivision, Queenstown
- Tihoi Adventure School (St Pauls Hamilton, Taupo)
