This gymnasium project for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) was particularly sensitive to budget constraints and public scrutiny. Completed in May 1999, the new recreation and gymnasium facility provides space for basketball, netball, and badminton courts, a spectator gallery, weight room, administration centre, toilets, and changing facilities.

Its innovative structure and aerofoil form was both a solution to the needs of the site, and the RNZAF's desire to utilise existing steel purchased for another project.
