Peddle Thorp & Montgomery assisted the client (Lisland Properties Ltd) in site selection, master-planning and design for this major residential and recreational development. We were appointed as project managers to oversee the resource consent process and manage the engineering and specialist consultants engaged for the works.
Peddle Thorp & Montgomery designed the Lisland House for the Director's base and marketing house during Stage Two. This was located on a beautiful site amongst the original oak and chestnut trees next to the Golf course.
In all, some 290 sections were developed in the four stages of Holy Oaks and Lakemere Subdivisions. By implementing building covenants and bulk and location controls the quality of the 120 house to date within the development, has been ensured.
A feature of the planning was maintaining the lake and mountain views from most of the residential sites, the open reserve spaces for stormwater attenuation, public walkways and wildlife ponds.
Lisland Properties, as part of their reserves agreement with Taupo District Council incorporated tennis courts, a tennis pavilion and a children's' playground into the development. A village green reserve for village sport has also been provided in Stage Four, and this again achieves an excellent balance of open space landscaping with development.
