Project Size: 42 000m²
Project Value: NZ$110 Million
Location: Wellington, New Zealand
PTM provided a concept to Kupe Investment Ltd for the development of the old Central Post Office site that had stood still as a hole in the ground for 10 years in the 1980's after the Government abandoned plans for a Central Post Office building and tourism interest convinced the Government that the suite should be developed as an international hotel for the Capital City.
The landmark building features a 232 room Four Star hotel now run by the InterContinental Group, and 12 floors of octagon shaped quality offices space of some 10,000m². The project has a floor area of 42,000m2, cost $90 million to build and won the Wellington Owners Building and Managers Award in the early 1990s.
The building is a warmly regarded landmark in the central city with the InterContinental still regarded as the Premier hotel in Wellington.
