Peddle Thorp and Montgomery's design for the New Tawa Recreation centre has been hailed as a "winner" in the local media for the facilities it provides for the school and community needs.
This successful collaboration between Tawa College and the Wellington City Council has resulted in a new community recreation facility for the Tawa and Linden communities.
This development includes the refurbishment of an existing gymnasium along with the construction of a new gymnasium, classroom and related changing, storage and teaching spaces. While the main building forms stylistically link to the original gymnasium form, the new entry stands out to create an identifiable focal point to the complex.
