Project Value: AU$8 Million
Location: Ballarat, Australia
Practice: Peddle Thorp (Melbourne)
The architectural outcome for the extension of the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery is sculptural and reflective of the artwork it houses. The gallery remains sympathetic to its heritage environment amidst a historic precinct. Internally the curved and coffered ceilings create great volumes natural light, which flood the galleries internal realms. This design breaks away from the style of many traditional galleries that rely heavily on artificial lighting.
