The Peddle Thorp Offices of Wellington, Sydney and Auckland collaborated to complete this prominent 21 storey office tower on Lambton Quay, Wellington, for the AMP Society in the late 1980's.
The project has 13 office floors of some 11,284m² of rentable office space; retail space of some 2,000m²; mezzanine office of 515m² and 4 levels of carparking.
The office tower has its formal office entrance and foyer from Level 8, The Terrace, a glass lift to Level 8 from Lambton Quay. Significant retaining structures had to be built to support the terrace embankments, which are 8 levels high between Lambton Quay and The Terrace.
The building's united facade profile is achieved through blue laminated reflective glass and a distinctive blue granite exterior, with a 45 degree splaying of the edges.
